By then the Grizzlies had done too much damage

He is averaging 4 assists this year with the Lakers while Ariza averaged 1.8 last season. And he can shoot the ball every bit as good as Ariza could, if not better. This is a guy who made 10-3 pointers in the annual Laker Thanksgiving scrimmage.. Having 2 offensive weapons coming off the bench is a big plus too. Lamar Odom and Shannon Brown can both come into the game and spark a run whenever needed. Pau Gasol has been playing wit renewed vigor, and Bynum is playing like an All-star,and Kobe can hit 40 or 50 points at will so there isn't a team out there who can stop the Lakers except the Lakers.. Not since Kobe and Shaq have I seen two players that complement each other so well. What makes them so good playing with each other is their knowledge of the game and high basketball IQ.

Kobe and Gasol dominated the 2009 NBA Finals and as long as both of them are healthy, they will do the same in 2010.. BOX SCOREIf NBA games had a fifth period, the Blazers might have been able to pull this game out. Then again, there's no reason to believe the Grizzlies would have stopped having an answer for every Portland comeback attempt. The Blazers gave Memphis everything they had in the second half, outscoring the Grizzlies 57-45, but it wasn't enough as Memphis dominated Portland 106-96.The game started out as expected with Portland holding an early 15-11 lead midway through the first quarter. Then what became an insurmountable lead began to take effect as Memphis continued to take it to the rim and get to the line as Portland continued to take jumpers and turn the ball over. The dreadful quarter was fittingly capped off with Brandon Roy (uncharacteristically unaware of the game clock winding down) failing to get a shot off, followed by a chorus of well-deserved boos from the home crowd.Memphis ended the quarter on an 18-0 run, holding the Blazers to 28 shooting.Oh, but they weren't done yet.The Blazers were stuck with 15 points until about the 6:40 mark of the second quarter when Brandon Roy finally hit a jumper to end the long drought.By then the Grizzlies had done too much damage.Memphis continued to pour it on as they seemingly couldn't miss, racking up 61 first-half points and heading into the locker room with a 22 point first half lead. The Blazers came out and gradually fought back in the second half but every time Portland seemed to be making a move, Memphis would have an answer. There was a feeling that although the Blazers were down double-digits for the majority of the game, they would find a way to sneak out a win. They were playing Memphis, after all.Portland got the lead, which had gotten as high as 29, down to single-digits in the fourth and you had the feeling that they just might do it.But Memphis always had an answer. It's hard to blame anyone for this loss.Memphis simply came to the Rose Garden and played a great game. The Blazers got worked.Z-Bo always seems to play well when he comes back to town, finishing with a typical 21 point, 9 rebound game.Marc Gasol played fantastic, finishing with 19, 15, and 5.OJ Mayo had a solid night with 19 points. The bench played well, as Hasheem Thabeet was terrific in the paint during the fourth quarter and Jamal Tinsley seemed to do whatever he wanted.Memphis came to the Rose Garden and handed Portland its third home loss of the season, leaving Blazer fans with a sour taste as the team heads down to Salt Lake City for a meeting with the Jazz.Hearing the boos at home (and deserving them)Continuing to struggle at the foul lineNot much help from the benchRoy and Aldridge playing 40 minutes one night before heading to UtahMartell gaining confidenceNo one got injured This article is also featured on Bust a Bucket - A Portland Trail Blazers Blog. In what looked to be Boise States first win on the season, ended with a brother to brother touchdown pass to give Boise State a 44-33 win over Nevada and first place in the WAC. In a highlight game for Kellen Moore who threw 5 touchdown passes and now leads the nation in Touchdown passes with 38 on the season.Clearly Boise State lead this early as they advanced 20-0 in the first quarter as the game opened with a 95 yard Boise State kickoff return by Titus Young. Young who had 5 returns for 156 yards stayed pretty quite on the evening. It was to be a battle of the defenses as the Broncos led the first half 27-16.

Nevada, the current WAC defenders were not to be overstepped in this game in which they went in with 15 forced take-aways on the season forced Boise to give up 16 early half points as they trailed at the half by 2 possessions.Going into the third quarter, Nevada proved why they had been on a 8-0 win streak as they held the Broncos and caused a costly fumble in which the Wolf Pac recovered off an official review and later scored with a 71 yard run to put them back in the game 26-34. As the Broncos offense struggled, it was the direct snaps to Doug Martin that allowed the Boise State to seal the deal in the fourth quarter and keep the Wolf Pac defense on their heals. Martin had 16 rushes for 128 yards. It was the efficient passing by Kellen Moore that brought the Broncos the advantage in the WAC as he ended the game with a 6 yards pass to his brother Kirby to give the Broncos 44 points. Running-Back Jeremy Avery had a quite evening as he had 14 rushes for 37 yards. He now has 1044 yards on the season with 181 attempts on the season. It was the well rounded team approach on the evening that allowed Boise State to over come their opponent Nevada to move on with rights to the WAC title and a chance to play in its first BCS Bowl game.
